A brief, a few references, and a list of next steps can be enough to get a project moving. This Quickmake update makes those ingredients easier to add to your canvas.
More ways to start
The Insert panel now includes notes, documents, checklists, links, grids, and stacks. Use a document for a longer brief, a checklist for the work ahead, or a grid to organize material you want to compare. See our guide to organizing grids and stacks for keeping image proportions and giving each collection a useful name.
You can also create content directly from the keyboard:
| Key | Add to the canvas |
|---|---|
| N | Markdown note |
| D | Document |
| C | Checklist |
| G | Grid |
| S | Stack |
Use these shortcuts while working on an editable canvas, outside a text field. The toolbar menus also show the shortcuts, so you can learn them as you go.
Bring your references along
We've restored URL pasting on the canvas. Copy a web address and paste it onto the board to create a link card beside your notes and visuals.
For a campaign, that might mean keeping the product page beside the brief and the checklist. For a research board, it gives each reference a place next to the idea it supports.
Try it on your next project
Open a canvas, add a document for the brief, and create a checklist for the next three tasks. Paste a reference link beside them. You now have a starting point you can build around as the project develops.
